Our primary mission is to offer a sanctuary from your busy life so you can de-stress and unwind. Having many hours to do nothing but sit and work on a project or practice being bold with our creativity is a precious thing.
And sometimes being on a retreat can challenge us too. If we are people used to filling the unforgiving minute, we might find it uncomfortable to sit focussing on our craft - we may have to fight urges to do the dishes or feelings of guilt. And then there are the people who habitually put the needs of others before their own and may be uneasy about taking time for themselves.
Meeting new people and living in community can bring its challenges too. We might even feel self conscious about our craft, believing we are not as skilled or visionary as others.
So, there is a good chance that you might find yourself pushing your comfort zone at some point. This is a good thing - studies show a little anxiety helps us learn and grow and opens up new opportunities.
